Wah-Ming Chang worked in publishing for four years before pursuing her M.F.A. in creative writing at Cornell University. In 2001 she won the Mary Roberts Rinehart Award and in 2002 received an Individual Artist Grant from the Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts.

To continue working behind the printed word, she's joined the staff of Night Train, in addition to Ten, the Asian American Writers' Workshop's literary journal, and has returned to New York City publishing. Her fiction has appeared in Arts & Letters
